What is Spinal Flow Technique?

The Spinal Flow® Technique was developed by Dr Carli Axford over 20+ years of study, research and clinical observation.

With a double degree in chiropractic and time spent at the world-renowned Texas Back Institute, Dr Carli combined her extensive clinical experience with her studies in India and many other modalities. Recognising the body’s innate healing ability as the best way to treat pain, illness and dis-ease, she refined her methods to find the most effective way to support people to regain their health.

The Spinal Flow® Technique was born.

This gentle, non-invasive treatment utilises 33 access points in the sacral and cranial areas. This works with adults of all ages, children and babies too! Spinal Flow works to restore balance in the body by releasing physical, chemical and emotional blockages. It treats the entire nervous system by restoring and increasing the natural flow of energy through the spinal cord, guiding the body back to homeostasis.

As we mature, it is more likely that we will experience imbalances in our system. We all have injuries, accidents, exposure to chemicals in our environments, emotional experiences like loss, grief, profound disappointment, and forced changes in our circumstance. All these things leave an imprint on us and it can be harder to bounce back when we have multiple layers to remove!

Key Aspects of Spinal Flow Technique:

  • Mechanism: It works by identifying and releasing "blockages" in the seven gateways of the spine to improve the flow of life force energy.

  • Method: Clients lie clothed (face down or side-lying) while the practitioner uses light touch on the sacrum, cranium, and spine.

  • Benefits: It helps shift the nervous system from a "survival state" (fight/flight/freeze) to a "healing state," addressing issues like back pain, migraines, stress, anxiety, and digestive issues.

  • Sessions: Initial sessions are typically 60 minutes (including assessment), with follow-ups lasting about 30 minutes
